WELCOME RETURN FOR CHILLVENTA

After a four-year break due to Covid, Chillventa, the world’s leading trade fair for refrigeration technology, returned to Nuremberg in October to showcase exciting new products and highlight key topics facing the industry. Exhibiting a range of products at the event, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air Conditioning Europe (MHIAE) shares impressions of this international gathering of HVAC experts.

Upbeat atmosphere
Chillventa attracts the top experts, key players and industry associations from the international refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pump community. A biennial event that was postponed during the pandemic, the last Chillventa was held in 2018. MHIAE shared a stand at this year’s show with our long-standing German distributor, S-Klima/STULZ. From the upbeat atmosphere it was clear to both our companies that exhibitors and visitors from all over the world were delighted to be able to meet up again and see the latest products and services for this fast-moving market.

New business potential
Chillventa has always had an almost family-like atmosphere and many visitors to the stand were existing customers and partners. However, we were also pleased to welcome potential new customers who were keen to learn more about the latest MHI and S-Klima products.
The stand featured an array of MHI products designed to deliver high seasonal efficiency and design flexibility. These included Single fan vertical blow KXZ3 VRF Inverter Multi-System, FDUM ducted units and the stylish wall mounted SRK series. The stand was busy throughout the three days of the exhibition with teams answering questions and discussing new developments with visitors.

Energy transition
After the global pandemic, having this opportunity to see each other face-to-face made us all realise how important this type of personal contact is. However, the current energy crisis shows that there is still a lot of work to be done across the industry to enable the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. Highlighting the challenges that lie ahead, key themes at this year’s Chillventa included sustainability, energy performance of refrigeration systems and the circular economy.

Trends
From walking around the halls at Chillventa 2022 it was clear to see the trend towards heat pump with natural refrigerants such as R290 (propane). Eric Krone, Head of Product Management for S-Klima, believes this trend is mainly being driven by the new draft of F-Gas regulations as well as concerns on energy supply & prices Additionally, ongoing demand for more digital solutions and digitalisation continues throughout the industry. In light of this growing trend, the new wall mounted units from MHIAE with integrated WiFi adapter were especially well received at the show and generated considerable interest from visitors.
